San Diego CITD Client Selected as Exporter of the Year by SBA

CMF Global

April 17th, 2013

The San Diego District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration recently announced its local Small Business Week Award recipients. As part of its annual National Small Business Week activities, the SBA recognizes small business owners and leaders in the community that provide support to small businesses for their outstanding achievements through various awards. Nominations for the awards are typically submitted by business assistance organizations, trade associations, chambers or commerce, and lending institutions, among others. Nominations are then reviewed by a panel convened by the local SBA office to determine the winner in each of several categories. Local nominees are also submitted for consideration of regional and national recognition.

Among this year's award recipients is San Diego CITD client, CMF Global Inc., which was selected as the "Exporter of the Year" by the local SBA office. CMF Global is a supplier of pipes, valves, fittings and other materials for use in irrigation systems, fire suppression systems, oil and gas applications and more. The San Diego CITD nominated CMF Global for its outstanding success in exporting U.S. made products to more than 20 countries.

San Diego CITD Director, Victor Castillo, was also nominated and selected for the SBA's "Minority Small Business Champion of the Year" award. Award recipients will be honored at the SBA's Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon, which will be held at the Scottish Rite Center in Mission Valley on June 12, 2013.
