Join Us for Our Winter Networking Receptions

MAPLE brings together executives, investors, entrepreneurs, and service providers to explore opportunities to grow their businesses through closer ties between Southern California and Canada. At our Winter Quarter Series, we will bring some crisp focus to North-South planning with expert speakers on raising capital on the Canadian markets for U.S. high growth companies and adeptly managing the financial considerations of a move between Southern California and Canada. And we have three receptions scheduled across Southern California to welcome you.
Wed. Dec. 5th – San Diego (morning)
Thurs. Dec. 6th – Los Angeles (morning)
Thurs. Sept. 6th – Orange County (evening)
Delilah Panio, vp capital formation Southern California, TMX Group; Bernardine Perreria, financial advisor, Perreira Hurly Wealth Advisory.

Expert Cross-Border Presentations

We have two very special presentations for our Winter Series. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and profit from great networking.

CANADIAN CAPITAL MARKETS FOR U.S. GROWTH COMPANIESWhile going public may not be on the radar of most SoCal companies, Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange are a unique funding and listing platform for high growth US companies looking to raise Series B+ capital. This presentation will highlight how to use the public markets for growth, the key considerations for going public, and why companies (and their investors) with early revenue, strong management team, and a growth strategy to get to Nasdaq should consider the Canadian capital markets as an alternative that may be the right fit. Presenter: Ms. Deliah Panio, vp capital formation – Southern Californa – TMX Group.

NAVIGATING NORTH-SOUTH MOVESNot many people are aware of the financial implications of a Canada/US cross-border move.  Yet, it can have a long-term impact on their financial well being.  Regulations and tax reporting requirements concerning investments can be complicated.  Security selection and currency are other factors that come into play.  This presentation will provide some timely recommendations on how Canadians living in the United States and Americans moving to Canada can navigate what sometimes feels like the ‘white waters’ of cross-border financial management. Presenter: Ms. Bernardine Perreira CFP, CIM, Financial Advisor, Certified Financial Planner, Perreira Hurly Wealth Advisory of Raymond James (USA) Ltd. Member FINRA/SIPC.

REPORT ON MAPLE
MAPLE co-founders Robert Kelle and Stephen Armstrong will share an update on the work of the Council and the growth of our community since our Fall Quarter receptions.

Three Special Venues
We have three special venues planned for our Winter Event Series. Our San Diego event will be held at the popular Bella Vista Social Club and Caffe in La Jolla. And we are looking forward to visiting the campus of the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena where our guests will have the option for a tour after our reception.  We will be wrapping up our three-day series with an evening reception In Costa Mesa at the offices of Calgary-based Brookfield Residential overlooking the 405 freeway and John Wayne Airport.
